  • hi all

everytime I try to update via webgui I get this message

    Code
Failed to execute command 'export LANG=C; sudo apt-get --show-upgraded --simulate dist-upgrade 2>&1': Reading package lists... Building dependency tree... Reading state information... The following packages will be REMOVED:(snipped long list of packages)

    any pointers would be appreciated

    apt-get autoremove
    apt-get dist-upgrade

Did you login as root? What version of OMV? What are the packages that it wants to remove?

    omv 7.1.0-2 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

  • I would reinstall. When you 1st enter the OMV web-gui I want you to /system /network /DNS server and put in the ip address or your router. It is 192.168.1.1 for most people. Then start a root ssh session with Putty and do a "apt-get update" and tell us if you have any errors. Then we will help you from there.

If you do not want to do this you can try this in command line to fix it.

    apt-get --purge remove openmediavault
    apt-get install openmediavault

Then go and set the DNS server in the OMV web-gui.

  • argh

did a clean install of OMV ontop of squeeze...

everything seemed fine updates and plugins all showing up.

switched off and plugged in the array and suddenly cant see the network when I rebooted...

    v puzzling

its slightly out of my comfort zone so any advice gratefully received!

  • Did you set DNS server 1st thing when you got it up and running???? What do you mean by array? You have a RAID array that you are connecting?

Log into OMV Web-GUI then go to:

/system /network and the tab over in right window that says DNS Server and put in ip of your router and click on ok.....
