Boot log filled with syslog entries after boot on OMV3 Raspberry Pi

  • The boot log on OMV3 is different to OMV2 as the system continues to write to boot log all the time - continues after boot has completed.

I rebooted my system 2 days ago and the boot log is already 40 pages.

Is this by design for jessie or Raspberry Pi or is there something wrong?

OMV3 is Debian Jessie which uses systemd instead of sysvinit that OMV2/Debian Wheezy used. So, this is how it works.

is there a way to clear the boot log?

Not from the web interface. The log is managed by journalctl and set to not grow over a certain size. So, you shouldn't need to clear it.
