Is ZFS supported in Kernel 4.13-4.15?

  • Hi, I need to turn off my NAS for some days, should I install the new 4.17 kernel or is better to remain with the 4.16?

    Intel G4400 - Asrock H170M Pro4S - 8GB ram - Be Quiet Pure Power 11 400 CM - Nanoxia Deep Silence 4 - 6TB Seagate Ironwolf - RAIDZ1 3x10TB WD - OMV 5 - Proxmox Kernel

  • The choice is entirely up to you. Both work :) Is there anything in the 4.17 change log that you need? If not, it may be better to stick on 4.16. If you just want the latest available kernel, then go for it.

  • HI everyone!
I just got this message from my NAS:

I immediately checked and I found this log:
Buffer I/O error on dev sda, logic block 1465130324, async page read

How can I solve it?! Is my HDD going to die or is just a software problem?

  • Hi,

today I updated to latest kernel 4.18 and latest zfs 0.7.12 in debian backports:

WARNING: Do NOT ubgrade to Kernel 4.16 if you use ZFS

Everthing seems to work as expected for me. ;)

    Regards Hoppel
