Is it possible to lock / disable some shared folder after e.g. 3 times wrong credential entered (until admin unlock it again) ?

  • Hi.

I'm just wondering if there is any solution to automatically lock / disable some shared folder (e.g. samba share) after e. g a three times worng user / password entries.

Then administration message (via e-mail) about the incident and IP address of possible "attack" could be sent.

I think even if there is no public IP on OMV or port redirection on the router there is always some risk that someone will find a way to access the NAS (there may be a lot of reasons) and I should protect as well as possible any confidential data.

After a three fautly log events for such kind sensitife data I would preferre:

    - block any network traffic from and to the IP which cause the wrong login tries

    - send a warning e-mail message to admin to take some action

    - disable mentioned share

    - disable OMV

    - even the hardware shutdown could be a good idea

    How do you think ?
