Hey everyone,
I'm currently facing some difficulties with performing server-side copies on my OMV server using a Manjaro client and Dolphin file explorer. I'm hoping to get some guidance on resolving this issue. Here are the relevant software versions:
- OpenMediaVault (OMV): 6.4.0-3
- Coreutils: 8.32-4+b1
Firstly, I attempted to use both Fish and NFSv4.2 in Dolphin and the /etc/fstab
file. With NFS, I managed to achieve a serverside copy speed of only 8MB/s, which is quite slow. On the other hand, Fish provided gigabit speeds, but this was limited to the local network.
I also tried using rsync
via SSH, and it gave me the expected speeds for my HDD, so that seems to be working fine. However, I haven't had the chance to explore Samba yet.
In Ye-olden days before dockers, I used to RDP into the server and use the internal file explorer to deal with this.
I'm looking for suggestions on how to address this issue and improve the server-side copy performance. Are there any specific configurations or alternatives I should consider? Your insights and experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!
