Uodates failed and now getting a 500 failed to execute error when trying to apply updates

  • Did an update and received an error, looks like when I cloned the drive a while back that something was not quite right. When trying to update kernel it had an error. I dropped to the command line and did the apt update and it was asking for grub location which I identified but I am still getting the error message in OMV when trying to apply the updates.

    Here is the message:

  • Looks like its an issue with nfs-server.service, failed to start with a dependency error...never have seen this before anyone have any suggestions?

  • Update: Did some searching and found a post with a similar issue, required me to go into NFS settings and reselect the versions etc...finally applied without issue and NFS service is now running, whew....:)

thank you so much for sharing. Hd the same error and your fix worked. This post probably saved me hours of work.!!

    OMV6 i5-based PC

    OMV6 on Raspberry Pi4

OMV5 on ProLiant N54L (AMD CPU)

  • I too had this problem. To be more clear on the fix.

    1. Log into your GUI OMV install.

    2. Go to Services -> NFS -> Settings

    3. In my case, the NFSv2 box was not checked. I checked that box, saved it.

    4. Then hit apply, everything worked.

No more problem. Hopefully that helps someone else too.
