question why do alot of people in the US drive these type of cars? there rare over here. is that a 3l petrol or diesel?

We get a lot of snow and I drive to work in unplowed snow quite often. A car wouldn't go through some of the snow I drive through. I also do a lot of stuff around my house that I need a truck because I wouldn't want to put it in the interior of a car nor would it fit - mulch, dirt, wood projects, etc

It is a 3L inline 6 diesel.
