Problems with connection from Kodi to server

Hey! I set up this ftp media server a couple months back for a school project just before my graduation. Today I uploaded a couple more films to my server and tried connecting to it from Kodi on my google tv. (I should add that I installed mergerfs and set that up and fixed some groups as well). The first problem that occurred was that kodi didn’t scan all films on the server, and when I looked into it I couldn’t connect to the server any more. I got an error message telling me that remote share lost connection to the server. The weird thing is that when I use WinSCP to upload the films I have a constant connection to the server, but kodi doesn’t seem to wanna work correctly. I feel kind of clueless now so I thought maybe someone here would know something. If I should upload some reports or logs just tell me what to upload and I’ll do it. Just if I can receive any sort of help would make me forever grateful.

I should also add that after either waiting a couple of minutes or re adding the media source in kodi, the connection starts working again.
