Using what method? dd or ddfull or fsarchiver or borg?

ddfull is a better idea for the RPi or any arm system.

    Try this:

Write a fresh image of Raspberry Pi OS to the SD card.

Follow that same guide for just the Restore System Partition and Swap sections.

can it be used on a rpi?

No. It is amd64 only. You could boot systemrescue on the system you used to flash the SD card in the first place.

an RPi doesn't have a system partition. It has a /boot or /boot/firmware partition but that will be in place from writing the new image.

  • ok just a little recap 'couse my understanding is really low and im sorry fot thst (and thanks for your patience):

    1. Write a fresh image of Raspberry Pi OS to the SD card and install a brand new OMV on it
    2. SKIP RESTORE THE PARTITION TABLE; RESTORE UEFI PARTITION
    3. before you told me to RESTORE SYSTEM PARTITION but then that RPi doesn't have a system partition so i'm a bit confused
    4. SWAP

    thanks again

Sorry, I am really bad at teaching and really like to avoid it.

When you said system partition the last time, I was thinking that you meant efi partition.

Yes, you need to restore the system partition. And yes, I think the list is correct. I haven't done this and didn't test it. Luckily, if it doesn't work, you can try the steps again.

Not in that screenshot but it looks like you used rsync for a backup method?
