Questions before upgrading to 1.0

  • Hi folks,
I have read the guide and the upgrade process seems to be quite easy.

Anyhow I have also read of some people facing problems with customized installs.

As my system has undergone some customization itself, I would like to get an understanding of how this will work out for me.

    My customizations:

    • stuff that I installed via apt-getopenvpn

      • dovecot
      • getmail
      • python
      • attic
    • programs I manually installed that bring their own webservers

      • pyload
      • fhem
    • Websites in openmediavault subfolders that rely on apache at the moment

      • owncloud /var/www/openmediavault/owncloud
      • wallabag
    • openmediavault plugins

      • roundcube
      • cups
      • mysql
      • extras

Will those programs still be there and working after the upgrade?

What happens to the stuff that is served by apache atm? Will that
automagically be adjusted once nginx does the job after the upgrade?

Or will it be easier for me to take a day off and start from scratch?

    Thanks for any advice!

If you have all that manually installed, you are going to have issues upgrading. Stuff that relies on apache are going to have problems since OMV 1.0 uses nginx.
