I almost out of ideas. Is this a new motherboard? I mean you just built it recently? pull it out of the box assemble and start loading stuff and linux?

Thank you sub
Bought It on amazon https://www.amazon.fr/gp/produ…age_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 14 days ago
And Yes I built the configuration and tried to install OpenMediaVault directly, Didn't worked so I installed windows and it worked like charm but was to slow... So here I am on open media vault but with only 2 disk -
Ok. One last thing to try. Clear CMOS. Page 21 of your manual. Shutdown unplug power, move the jumper for cmos clear. You will need to reconfigure your bios for boot priority after that.
BTW are the drives detected when you move them to one of the port that's has a working drive
-
Thanks Subzero
I will do the CMOS reset when I going to receive my new Sata cables in 3 days.
Yes and I have tested one of the not detected on my other pc and working fine.
Here the file that you asked me :
DISKS are in IDE MODE

- 2 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s Connectors by AMD AM1 Series Socket 25W Quad-Core APU, support NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug
- 2 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s Connectors by ASMedia ASM1061, support NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug2 controllers, it is probably the ASMedia SATA ports you have having issues with.

Thank you tekkb
What should I do solve the problem? install a driver?
thank you
Best regards -

I forgot to check. But there is a September 2014 BIOS revision for you MB in the manufacturer webpage

Please check version and upgrade to the latest to see if it makes any diffrence

Hello subzero
thank you for your answer
But I already did it on the first boot
Sincerelly

I did see 4 sata ports in dmesg. But 2 of them seem shut down. As if no disk connected.
After you get your new cables and still doesn't work, if you have time can you try and boot a live distro maybe FEDORA or Ubuntu and check if this time you can see the disk.
-
It may be issue where he has to wait for a kernel to have a module for the ASmedia controller. The Fedora live distro might give a good idea if things are going to come his way. But it may be that this board might not be a good choice for Linux.

Never dealt with SATA controller modules before , but if that were the case, he would just be able to modprobe them right? Gonna take a look at the linux tree now.
@goldiman can you post here as a text the following, similar thing you did with dmesg
lsmod > lsmod.txt
-
It works in linux. I just checked. I wonder if he has that controller turned on in the bios? or maybe there is issue with it on that board?
-
As i pointed before the support was added in 2012 for 1061 according to github. The controller is shown in lspci. But I am not sure if the lspci output means that the driver is loaded.

Missed that but you should know I don't read everything, and jumping around a lot.

feeling so happy ! -
So was it the cables? or BIOS?
-
Sorry I don't know I was a little lazy so I did both at the same time
-
Lol. Well when you have time, put on of the old cables just to check. Is good to know because it can help others. I've always do a clear CMOS in a new MB when I build a PC.
