No, the card WAS working in STR it stopped a day after I installed it.
I always wanted to get the card working in STR again. I never cared about WOL from shutdown (S5) or hibernation (S4).
Obviously there's a misunderstanding here...

Ok. What about the on board one? Does it work with wol? If so you can leave that for wol purpose only. Make sure you access through the other one to get more speed.
WOL on onboard NIC doesn't work for STR anymore either. Settings are fine afaik, I did only activate WOL in GUI after another fresh install. ethtool eth0 shows that WOL is enabled.
But WOL works on the onboard NIC from halt (S5), at least something
/proc/acpi/wakeup shows:
ZitatAlles anzeigenPCI0 S5 *disabled no-bus:pci0000:00

I tried to edit it with echo LAN0 > /var/proc/acpi/wakeup echo LAN0 > /proc/acpi/wakeup but could not activate W'OL from STR.
EDIT: had a typo in the echo path, thanks subzero
/var/proc/acpi/wakeup
I think you got echo the wrong path is /proc/acpi/wakeup
If it works for you, just make sure exit routing goes through the fast nic, so you leave the onboard just for wol.
Accessing OMV should be done through the ip by the pci nic.
Not the most satisfying solution but it will work. OMV is starting quite fast, so WOL from halt is not a huge problem.
I will mark the thread as solved. If I find a better solution I will post it here.
Thank you for your help
I did not read all this but did you reboot your router? Sometimes they get hung up and are not working right.
Welcome to the world of realtek. My server has one onboard, if I want to shutdown the system I have to do it twice...because I have WOL enabled, wonderful.
The best recommendation is always to get an intel card, they have the best support in linux
I would pay more if every board I bought could have an Intel NIC.
I got it to work! I just installed a intel NIC and everything was fine right of the bat!!
And that is how it is with Intel...
