copy files between 2 OMV installations - VERY slow

Hi

I have an omv install running on a ssd disk with 8x3Tb raid5 setup.
for some reason the raid filesystem is NTFS .. I simply cannot remember if I, in a daze of coffee and bad bread, selected this by mistake but there it is.. of course I want to change the fs to ext4 or similar (what would you recommend ? )

anyway.. I happen to have a second computer running omv with 5x3Tb disks running ext4. this is setup using 'pooling' all 5 disks into 1 shared folder.

I started to copy all files from my main install to the second omv with 'cp' and then sending the process to background to free up my terminal (putty in windows)

It's now been running for 19 hours and so far it's moved about 450Gb of data... (around 60000 files)

at this rate it'll take more than a week to move all my data..

can this really be?

I've stopped my 'cp' and set up a rsync..

dunno how that'll run speed-wize but we'll see..

Well that didn't make any difference.. it's still painfully slow.

does anyone have any ideas what might be 'holding' my transfers back?

I'm running GB network allround and there isn't really anything else using my network at this time..

I've destroyed the pool.. actually I ended up moving all the disks to one machine.
