Today I installed another HDD and I wanted to move my plexmediaserver library to it. Worked fine.
But on the services page plex media server is marked as not running (red).
How to fix that?

You need to enable monitoring for the device in the UI, otherwise scheduled tests are not configured in /etc/smartd.conf.
Enable moitoring doesn't help, as my screenshots from some days ago shows.
All disks are SMART compatible and everything has been activated in the GUI.
Zitat// for all my 4 drives:
SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability.
SMART support is: Enabled
I can only help by saying ... I installed a fresh OMV, mounted my disk, activated SMART monitor for every disk, created all my smart jobs.
Might be for weeky and monthly tests too.
Edit:
another bug is: sometimes when editing an smart test job entry it's correctly filling the first input with the disk I choosed when creating the job but I can't save because it's outline is red.
I need to choose another disk and then the original again to be able to save.
By the way: the GUI is some kind of difficult. What is the difference between the smart job page and the first one where I can type in seconds and choose some kind of "mode" or whatever this is?
German translation has also a lot of typos (das dass etc).
Thank you.
You can see the result in:
Storage > SMART > Devices > [ "Information" on one of my disks with sheduled smart test] > Self test logs
There is no date and nothing. You need to compare with the disk life time.
Edit:
did your automated smart test work? Can't get mine working whatever I do.
So daily tests also started automatically and are listed when using smartctl -a?
NONE of the tests I've put in OMV-GUI are getting started automatically. But they should.
Zitat von macomThey are just not listed in the GUI of OMV?
Sure they are listed in OMV. See my screenshots above. But they do not start automatically and I don't know why.
Zitat von macomI assume you are referring to the manually started jobs,
All smart tests, started automatically or manually, are saved into the smart info normally.
Sorry.
no problem.
Looks more and more like a bug.
Sure, I can see them.
It must be a bug in OMV in my opinion.
I can manually run them and see the results in the OMV GUI or via SSH. All fine. But these cron jobs won't start automatically and you can see how I've set them.
This by the way is my cron job list. I never touched anything. This is how Webmin shows it:
Have you successfully run these tests manually from the GUI?
Yes.
Zitat von macomCould be also helpful to post some screenshots of your configuration.
Any solution so far?
Storage > SMART > Devices > [ "Information" on one of my disks with sheduled smart test] > Self test logs
There should be one entry per day (it's saved into the smart information on the disk itself) as I've set up 1 short self test per day.
But there is nothing new each day.
German > Englisch, Google Translate:
I've set up scheduled SMART tests for all my hard drives. However, none of them went through this night.
I have four drives, for which I have all sheduled at 4 * * * (4 am, every day) a short self-test.
Once a month at 5 1 * * (5 pm every 1st of the month) a long self-test.
What is wrong here?
Edit: already 2 days and none of the tests went through.
Was ist hier falsch?
Funktioniert nun alles prima.
