I did omv-release-upgrade without issues.
Thank you very much for your hard work, the new GUI and the features are awesome.
I really appreciate this piece of software.
I did my anual donation, just a little grain of sand to this big software.
Again, thank you!

Martin Riggs if you are talking about Openmediavault (that is what this forum is about) then the brain-dead simple way to install Plex - or any other service, for that matter - is with Docker.
You do not read the complete post.
And no, docker is not the only way and not the easy way either, more if you have several shares.
Plex, Emby, Jelly
All have some issues on docker. I tested myself for years.
My Emby media server is not over docker, nor anything. Let the user decide.
You could find transcoding and other issues too... because drivers, of whatever.-

This is an old topic. However.
Quick option to install plex using the .deb package with the command dpkg -i
1 Go to Plex downloads and copy the link of the .deb package
2 Open the terminal and type wget "the_link_of_the_package.deb" (without the quotes) to download the .deb
3 Once you download the .deb package copy the name an type: dpkg -i the_name_of_the.deb_package.
If you are not root you will need to use sudo
Done.
To update do the same process.
Another way is adding the Plex repository
Follow this link with the instructions

At side topic:
I understand that jellyfin is an emby fork and is okay but for me is a working progress, many features need attention and the APPS of course.
Emby works fine and almost I can say, better than Plex.
Free is not free, donations are important for developers, that's why emby for some features you need a premium membership, that was the only way to survive and made the team bigger for development. There's a misconception of the free software.
OMV is one who need donations, please do whatever you can, I'm pretty sure that if you have the way to install a media server, you have the money to donate too

Have a nice day.

Edit:
Solved Deleting the disk and then re- create the filesystem again.

Hi, I notice slow speed tranfers when I'm in Linux.
In my main machine I have Linux and one Windows installation, in separated disks, so... when I need Windows for some reason, i just reboot from windows and that's it.
Same hardware, same machine, same wire, same all.... and the transfer speed on Windows always reach to top speed on my GB LAN, with linux I just can reach 50 to 70%
Any idea?
Thanks in advance

Easy way to install Emby on Portainer with OMV 5.
PULL:
emby/embyserver <------ for stable version
emby/embyserver:beta <--------for beta version
1-NETWORK: HOST
2-RESTART POLICY: ALWAYS
3-VOLUMES SECTION:
A- YOUR SHARES
/mnt/share1 ( always choose bind)
/srv/dev-disk-by-label-YOUR-SHARE/YOUR-SHARE (you need to get the absolute path like the example)
( you can add more shares)-- For a second share: /mnt/share2 ...and so.
B- YOUR CONFIG FILE PATH
/config
/srv/appdata/emby <--- you need to create ../appdata directory
---------------------------------------------------------------
4-ENVIRONMENTAL SECTION: (Check your user ID first)
UID=1000
GID=100
GIDLIST=100
5-LAST STEP:
Click on DEPLOY CONTAINER. (wait a few seconds)
That's all.
Hope helps

Thank you for new video Jeff! OMV 5.x installation.
I look in the Announcements and i can't find if 5.x is now the official latest release.
OMV 5 is out of beta?
Thanks in advance
-
No. It will be a docker alongside another docker.
Thank you very much! I had that wrong idea.
Have a nice day, really appreciated.

The portainer installation page seems to think it is the preferred method of installation - https://www.portainer.io/installation/
Why do you need it installed natively? You can install it natively by hand if you need it but I don't know of any benefits. Plus you just described how easy it is to update and image. If portainer was installed natively, it would be much more difficult to update to a newer version of portainer.
Docker image as the installation page describes. https://github.com/OpenMediaVa…in/omv-installdocker#L240
i tried to understand the Portainer in a docker too....Any other app installed on Portainer will be.... a docker inside a docker?
I'm a little confused in this point about it.
Thanks in advance.

I think that the Docker platform should regulate the issue of ports and that Squeezebox should change the ones it is using because Portainer, although it is a container itself, is the "host" of many applications. I do not think it is OMV's task to solve a problem that is clearly Docker as an application platform.
That is just my opinion. Regards. -
I vote for simplicity. What program needs port 9000?
+1

I tried to make the buttons do the right thing no matter what you clicked first.
Failsafe, I realized. Thank you very much for those little big details.

Oh, okay. Now I get it. Thank you for your help. I know was a dumb question, I just wanted to be sure what was the right way.
Cheers, and have a nice day!

Hello everyone.
Let me see if I understand ...
In order to use Portainer in OMV 15 beta, must I first install docker-ce and then the Portainer?
So, I don't have to configure anything never ever in the OMV Docker interface? Only in the Portainer? Is that so or am I lost?
Sorry for my dumb question.I followed the @TechnoDadLife tutorial but I had that doubt.
Thanks in advance, and thanks for your great work and to the community.
Have a nice day
