    There is a strong reason this is done. OMV packages might add or remove package dependencies on demand. With an normal "update" those package updates won't get installed. otherwise.

    True but the plugin is literally just writing the config file for timeshift. Everything timeshift does including cron jobs is the same as any other timeshift install. So, you could go by any timeshift docs.
