Tired of having my owncloud client syncing at a terrible speed of several kB/s using a Wireless N LAN I found an easy way to change the owncloud's default database engine (SQLite ) to MySQL (or postgreSQL).
The link is this one: http://www.tutorialgeek.net/20…ncloud-server-sync-5.html
I'm going to make a little overview for you to not having to read all the article:
Install MySQL plugin and reset the root password and set a password of your choice for the root user of the database.
Edit the /var/www/owncloud/config/config.php file and look for the line "installed" and change from "true" to "false".
Access your Owncloud web interface; it will be asking you for an admin account: use the same credentials as you defined in the OMV web interface.
Click on advanced and select MySQL and fill in the fields using the same data folder that you configured in the plugin for owncloud to store its files.
Fill in the database credentials. Username: root. Password: the MySQL plugin password that you should have have chosen before. The name of the database: "owncloud" for example but you can put whatever name you want. The last field has to contain the host that stores the database, so if you have MySQL installed in the same machine that is running the owncloud, you have to put "localhost".
Click on Finish Setup
Now you are ready to go with a superfast sync speed with the owncloud client (compared to SQLite)
