Hello.
I have just done a brand new install onto a proliant N40l.
It is able to find updates but when I try and install it just sits there at Reading state information... and goes no further
Any ideas?

Run omv-update via Command Line. If it errors, post it here.
Also, I moved your thread to the Update Forum, better suited here.

E: Malformed line 7 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (URI parse)
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Content of the File:
I am in UK and when installing OMV chose UK mirror, if that means anything

Make it look like this (you don't need any other lines):
deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main
deb-src http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main
deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-updates main contrib non-free
Yup, that sorted it, thanks mate!
