OMV is still blocked after an upgrade.

  • The server is still blocked after an upgrade.

    Everything was working properly.
I upgraded without errors (if I remember correctly for the Linux image and for version 2.2 of OMV).
I turned off everything and went home.
Today it turns on and the system will not start.
I attach a monitor to the server and see:

    Code
Initramfs unpacking failed: junk in compressed archive
[Firmware Bug]: cpu 0, try to use APIC600 (LVT ofset 0) for vector 0x10400, but the register is already in use for vector 0xf9 on other CPUs.

    ?(?(?(

(These are just the first two lines)

I am using a USB device (Kingston HyperX) and I'm using the plugin to bring the code into memory.

Previously I have already rinstallato OMV other 3 or 4 times, I do not remember anymore.
Now I will install it again once.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The flashmemory plugin does not perform miracles and no one said a stick will last forever when using the plugin. It just moves *some* of the high write directories to memory. If you have other apps/plugins/services writing to the OS drive, they can cause high writes. If your system has swapping, it can put excessive writes on the stick.

Did you monitor the write amounts in the plugin? I have been using a usb stick with the plugin for over a year on my server.

  • As I wrote, I had only done a update of Linux image and OMV.
I turned on the server and immediately after the update I have off, all without errors.
The next day is no longer started.

The problem is that in addition to having reinstall OMV and make new updates, then I have to re-configure all again.
Fortunately, there is only the Admin user.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Was it a new stick? Maybe you got a bad one. Not sure what to tell you. Once you are done installing and configuring the stick, back it up/clone it.
