softdog error

Take a look at this. It seems two modules are trying to register to do same thing. The 2nd module trying to register is unable to because the 1st already has. One of them could be black listed.

Thanks tekkbebe, I had seen that topic and checked blacklist.conf, there is an entry to blacklist the iTCO_wdt module. Should I blacklist softdog? what is OMV's default watchdog?
I did a clean install on a spare HD and it shows up on the first boot after the setup is complete. Could it be some hardware that I have that is causing this?, a compatibility issue with my motherboard? or a BIOS setting?

Have you tried the backports 3.14 kernel?

Have you tried the backports 3.14 kernel?
Not yet, did not want to add or change anything from the default install. If you think it may help I will try it later tonight when I get back from work.

I think the newer drivers could help and it would be worth the effort. I run the 3.14 kernel on all of my systems.
-
Installed backports 3.14 and the message does not appear in the boot logs but does still happen
If I run dmesg
Code[ 13.017948] Installing knfsd (copyright (C) 1996 okir@monad.swb.de). [ 13.148609] watchdog: Software Watchdog: cannot register miscdev on minor=130 (err=-16). Did you change anything hardware wise? When did it start?
-
It was most likely there from the start, I just never noticed it before. I do have a soundcard and a video capture card. I never use sound so I could remove that(don't know if it is working) The video capture card is fully functioning and is being used.

Did you try blacklisting the mei driver?
