Hello Everyone!
Just thinking what is the best way to encrypt my data on a 24x7 NAS-Solution via OMV. It should work as a disaster minimizer after a theft. If somebody takes the device (=power off) the data should be not accessible.
The way to unlock should be easy to do like plugging in a usb-device (with a keyfile) before boot or using the web interface and unlock the disk-array via a pass phrase.
I'm planning to use a little flash-storage for the omv-system and a software-raid (provided by omv) with two disks.
I already read some lecture:
- http://forums.openmediavault.o…S-disk-encryption-plugin/
The easier thing to do should be to "just" encrypt the data-raid via luks. Is there something like a best practice or is it trial and error?
Thanks for great piece of software released under FOSS! Great work!
