Name of MergerFS mountpoint

  • When I add a mergerfs pool under the 'Union Filesystems' tab, I can enter a name. However, that name is only the label and not the actual foldername of the mountpoint. Is there any way to choose the foldername of mountpoint? That is, change the name '6238dfe...' in the picture below to, say, 'storage'?

Nope. Naming mountpoints has been brought up many times and filed as a change request on bugtracker. The truth is, very few people needs something other than symlinks (which can be created/managed with the downloader plugin or manually).

  • The good thing is that when you create shares in the pool, you see the label and so it is not that bad. But remember, when you use the shares in any app e.g. Plex, you are presented with UUID and then shares. Once you done with shares and created samba, you rarely deal with device names or UUID.
