Problem installing backport kernel OMV3.0 (extras)

Hello,

I want to install the backport kernel in OMV 3.0. (A OMV 2.0 that had the backport kernel) upgraded to 3.0
When I install the backport kernel I have a message telling me that is is already installed.

Install backports 4.8.0-0.bpo.2 kernel and headers

uname -a gives

Linux openmediavault 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.36-1+deb8u2 (2016-10-19) x86_64 GNU/Linux.

A reboot didn't help.

The only choices I have are
Debian GNU / Linux
Clonezilla live
Parted Magic.

There is no boot option for the 4.8

How can I add the option?

update-grub doesn't work

# update-grub

(Can't find command)

EDIT :
I have made
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install --reinstall grub

After that I was able to do
/usr/sbin/update-grubuname -a still gives a 3.16 kernelIn the kernel selection of OMV, I see no 4.x kernelI can also see no 4.8 kernel in the boot menu (advanced)Thanks again

It is working perfectly now.
After the first boot with the kernel,, I had to import my zfs pool again but after the next reboot all was fine.
