Snapraid Synch Fehler seit einigen Tagen.... / Snapraid Synch error since a few days ......

    Hallo Ihr Lieben,
    ich brauche bitte nochmal Eure geballte Fach-Power bei der Lösung eines Problems.
    Seit einigen Tagen meldet mein Snapraid beim manuellen Synch einen
    Fehler. Ich habe versucht, dass manuell zu lösen, wie es gesagt wird.
    Das wird zwar anstandslos ausgeführt - aber nicht gelöst. Beim nächsten
    Synch wieder selbiges. synch the same.
    Da es ziemlich nervig ist, jedes Mal den Synch via Konsole starten zu müssen, hoffe ich, Ihr könnt vielleicht helfen?
    Der erste Teil ist klar - das bezieht sich auf das erstellte Backup des
    Systems - es geht mir um die Meldung hinsichtlich "mail.err".

    Since a few days my Snapraid tells me by a manual synch procedure that there is an error.
    I tried to solve that as discribed.
    These work seems to be going on; without any error message, but - the next manual
    That´s stupid for me. I´m a non experienced Linux user and every time starting the terminal ist...... :(
    Could you help me, pls? I hope so. The first step is clear - it depends on the made backups from the system.
    I mean the error message with "mail.err".

    It's possible that after a kernel crash this file was lost,
    and you can use 'snapraid fix -f /Backups/omvbackup/var/log/mail.err' to recover it.
    If this an expected condition you can 'sync' anyway using 'snapraid --force-zero sync'




    Wie gesagt - diese recover-Geschichte wird ausgeführt, aber nicht gelöst; beim nächsten Aufruf selbiges.
    As i said - that recovering is going on, but not solved. By the next call the same.

    First of all, I am no snapraid expert. But from my perspective, everything looks ok to me. The sync runs through but there is one error with one file (again: the rest is ok).


    I had the same problem (unexpected zero-size) myself and it seems to be a problem that araises if a file has changed on disk, while its modify-time has no changed (and consequently, Snapraid does not expect a change).


    In order to fix this, it might be sufficient to 'touch' the file (https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/touch/)

    Understood. But before automating it it makes sense to do it manually.
    So I assume that it worked for you when you did it manually?


    Does the problem re-appear?
    For me it was a problem that I had and fixed only once. Thus there was no need to automate it.
