OMV4 - Do I have to run omv-initsystem after manual update?

Hi,

I have OMV4 installed for quite some time and it's running fine. I always update my system manually at the command line

apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade

After the upgrade, for the first time, I got a message saying that to conplete the installation, I have to run omv-initsystem. Is it safe to run tyhis command at any time on a production server?

You do not (and shouldn't) execute the omv-initsystem command on production system.

Thanks for the info. On an existing test or development system, is it a goos idea to run the command or does it erase/reset all of omv's configurations? In fact, what does the command do?

It might overwrite some of your settings like interfaces, but it won’t touch services for example.
