Update Version

  • Hey guys,


    I have a more or less simple Question, im using this Version here. A very early Version.... is it still possible to Upgrade to the newest Version?


    And what about my raid? Is it possible to loose all data if I Upgrade?

    If yes, is it possible to drop my raid? Meins i have enough space on my HD for getting rid of the raid, and use it as normal data. Is that possible?

    I wouldn't. You would have upgrade from 0.4 -> 0.5 -> 1.0 -> 2.0 -> 3.0 -> 4.0 -> 5.0. See my point?

    You can re-install fresh and not lose any data. You would just have to re-setup your users, sharedfolders, and plugins.

    You can create a degraded array by wiping one of the disks but that can be dangerous.

    Unplug data disks

    install OMV 5.x fresh

    power off

    plug data disks in

    reconfigure - never format or wipe anything. just mount existing filesystems in the filesystems tab.

    So i will remove all HD except the one for the operating System.

    Then i need to format(?) My SDD, and install the newest Version.

    After it plug in all HD, go to the New Version Administrator Menu and mount then again, even if they are a Raid5 System.

    Thats all?

    Nope. The installer will do that.

    Yes. Your raid should be auto-detected.
