I've recently re-formatted two USB 3 HDD's through CLI using parted, fdisk and mkfs.ext4 but I'm having issues actually mounting it with OpenMediaVault. The partition I'm trying to mount is /dev/sdb1 which has a EXT4 label DATA1.
As soon as I apply the changes I'm presented with a large error message referring to quotas.

Could someone explain what's going on here please?
Can not reproduce this on Debian 11, but after googling i found those. maybe this helps you to fix the issue:

Try to format the disk using the OMV UI, i am sure this will fix the issue, too.
Happened to me too during a new installation with with "used" disks.
I have not tried to remove the "quota files" in the root of the disk but I solved it by:
(Save data first)
1) Unmounting the disk via command prompt: umount dev-disk-by-uuid-f27ee1b9-1d41-4858-93c6-53e55ebc4f3d
2) wiped it via Storage -> disks (used the quick setting)
3) Added the disk via Storage -> File Systems -> mount / create (plus sign)
Now the /dev/sdx showed up
