OMV6 and Desktop setup

    Hi ,

    I've read that OMV6 cannot be installed on setups with Desktop environnement and that is mandatory since upgrade script will remove all existing packages.

    I used to access my OMV PC through X2GO, and I sometimes also want to access my media files locally (I have a screen connected to this PC, so it could be used for that).

    Do you know any alternatives to continue to use this PC locally?

    I thought about VM, but I m not sure if I can run a VM with GUI guest if host has no desktop?

    Or what do you think about running OMV inside a VM?

    Any other configuration?

    You don't have many options. X in a container mentioned earlier. Virtual machine. Or the wild west...

    I've recently learned that OMV6 can no longer coexist with a graphic environment.

    Could you give me details on the reasons that led to this decision ? No way around this restriction ?
    An alternative to propose for someone who regularly uses an xrdp connection on his server ?
