Make sure the user is a member of the ssh group. You can add the user to that group in the OMV web interface if not.
i need to add user before install omv ?
which command should i use ??

I guess I don't know what phase of the install you are in. Did you install OMV or not? Are you following the install guide? Installing OMV6 or OMV5 on Raspberry PI's, Armbian SBC's, & i386 32-bit platforms The new user guide would probably help too - New User Guide - Getting Started with Openmediavault 6, 5, & 4
yes I already installed it using https://github.com/OpenMediaVa…ipt#to-skip-network-setup
Can you login to the web interface? What user are you trying to ssh as?
Of course, i can log in to the web interface I use my user when I set up in pi imager

The user created by pi imager is not put in the ssh group. If you look at that user in the User tab in the OMV web interface, is that user in the ssh group? This stuff is all in the guides I linked to earlier.

no

i try using
root
, using the password installed during the installation.
still access denied.
oh i need to reinstall as root
i still can't ssh even i installed as root
If you can access the GUI, add the pi user to the SSH group. You should be able to log in with this user and the password you assigned to it.
If you want to log in as root, you must enable the root user. In raspberry it is disabled by default. To do this type in CLI
sudo passwd root
Enter a password for root twice. Now you can log in as root.

If you use the Pi Imager, there's a "Settings" to edit several things including the SSH server which will add the user to it.
That user is also already added to the "sudo" group.
And when using the install script, if running the command with "sudo", that user will be already on both groups.
The user created by pi imager is not put in the ssh group
Sorry, I have to disagree: if the "pi" user is already on the SSH group and the install script is ran by it, OMV will keep him on the SSH.
Unless something changed on the lastest script updates.

The script only adds the pi user to the ssh if the pi user exists. The new Pi imager doesn't create the pi user anymore.
The script will add the user to the ssh group if the script is run by the user.
If you run the script as root and the pi user does not exist, no user is added to the ssh group. This is what the guide recommends last I looked.

Well, my reply is due to having set a user everytime (even with the new imager) prior to run the install script, 🤔
And this should be "pushed" on the SBC guide.
It would prevent posts like this one, 😎
