ryecoaaron how is this fixed? can the permissions of that mount folder be changed without affecting OMV?
Note that on that drive are the Docker and appdata folders.

I suppose that at some point an attempt was made to share that folder on the network directly and the permissions have been modified, there is no other explanation, I think...
A couple of side notes:
- You should not share the Docker folder on the network, it is a system folder. Use it only for configurations in the OMV GUI.
I've disabled it, and can't no longer see it in my network folder in Linux.
Another thing you should check is disk quotas. If you don't need them you should remove them, in any case you should check it in case they are restricting user/group redrose from writing to that drive.

As for this, I fell short, the appdata folder should also be considered a system folder and not show up on the network.

Disk quotas? The available space on the SSD, you mean?
I mean this.
It is configured in Storage>File Systems by selecting a drive and clicking the Quota button.
If you have never entered that configuration forget it, by default it is disabled.
No, never touched that option.
can the permissions of that mount folder be changed without affecting OMV?
OMV doesn't care what the permissions are.
OMV doesn't care what the permissions are.
OK thanks.
webdesignonwheels then you can run this command
chown root:root /srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-9590a3dc-d4e7-4c2e-8054-bc9414abd155
Then show the output of
ls -al /srv
I did what you said... This is now the output:
ok, test now if you can access.
Yes, I can access the disk as the folder Music inside it. Also on my pc. But still can't create/add a file in the Music folder (in Linux itself).
I'm running out of ideas, I only have one more idea left. I suspect that capital letter may be the problem.
I would like to check it as follows. Please set up a new folder called test, all lowercase, and assign write permissions to the user redrose. If it allows you to access it that way, it's because there is some kind of restriction with the capital letters in the names of shared folders, I don't know if in the samba part of OMV or Linux Mint.
Another chance. Try mounting the share using IP instead of the name smb://pietje.local/Music
Would be then:
smb://SERVER_IP/Music
(Replace SERVER_IP with the IP of your server)
I just read on a forum that this has sometimes caused problems with samba on Linux Mint at the level of sharing functionality. It was a bit of an old thread but it might still persist.

It's really amazing... I followed this guide, again, but now with the folder name 'test'. Guess what... It works! I can create and add files to it! I am really surprised!

I celebrate it, thanks for trying it.
So I think it will be that, some problem in Linux Mint with the capital letters. I never use capital letters in linux if I can help it, they only cause problems, you should get used to that.
You already know the way then, you will have to modify your shared folder, the problem is that you have the Docker and appdata folders inside.

If I try this, I get:
I replaced some numbers here, for x... Didn't do that in the terminal
the problem is that you have the Docker and appdata folders inside.
I have not said anything, you have them separated. Just delete the Music folder and create a new one called music.

Can't I just delete it here and create a new folder?
Everything we did you needed to do anyway, adjust permissions etc. Now you have everything in order.
Stay away from ACL permissions in the future!
