Single-disc, Windows 10 Samba shares working, but MergerFS shares say 'No Permission'

Apologies for yet another new thread, but I think I've exhausted all other avenues to get this question answered.

I create a new user, assign the permissions to the shared folder, create the Samba share, and access it from Windows. Single-disc shares are working fine, but when I attempt to access a share from my MergerFS pool (to configure Plex), I'm told I don't have permission. I believe the rest of my configuration is correct. I'm able to transfer files into and within the pool.

Things I've tried:

- I've set the folders to have open permissions and Allow Guests. In the Diagnostics tab, I can see my remote IP addresses connecting as nobody/nogroup from protocol SMB 3.11. No permission.

- I've gone through the steps in the "Windows 10 to OMV" document, but single-disc shares are working fine. Toggling the security level and the levels of SMB don't seem to make a difference.

- I read about the 'allow_other' setting which was tripping others up and is now deprecated, so it doesn't apply.

I'm hoping it's a simple MergerFS configuration issue. Thanks in advance for your help!

What path is the shared folder in?

What is the output of:

ls -al /srv/dev-disk*

Shared folder path is /srv/mergerfs/pool/data/media

This was enough to fix me up, thank you! There was a conflict between the ownership of the /data folder and the folders nested within it.

My folder structure on the pool is:

/data/downloads/incomplete, etc. (client is SAB)

/data/media/movies, tv, etc.

...and all these folders are owned by appuser.

/appdata and /docker are on disk 1 and owned by root.

Is this a best practice? I'm still unable to give a new user read/write permissions and access the media folder, but at least Plex is now working as expected.
