• Hi,

I used to have remote desktop set up, but removed all these when I updated to OMV7

are these part of a desktop set up or can these be removed? also is there any others to look for?

that is why you have to pay attention to what it is uninstalling. libglib isn't a gnome library. apt-get install openmediavault might fix it. If it purged the configs, you will be starting over. Hope you have backup.

  • oh, I thought with it saying maintainer was gnome it was part of same

ok run that then update dependancies and its back working most settings are there, but KVM and compose hase gone

installed the compose and KVM and all settings seems to be fine

So should they be updated, or arent them needed?

Is there any commend to see if theres anything else left from when i had desktop installed that can be removed

I would update them. It doesn't hurt being on the system.

unless you are running low on space, I wouldn't worry about anything else.

  • No space isnt a issue, just didnt want anything running in background

So should the system be fine now? everything appears to be on and working, flaashmemory is still installed and running,

JUst dont want to reboot and find OMV looses settings?

just didnt want anything running in background

having random libraries around won't add any services. If you think things are running, just look at the output of ps aux.

if everything you need is working, then it would seem that way.

Uninstalling OMV shouldn't change anything with the boot or ssh. If you reboot and something is missing, you should still be able to fix things.

  • Duno about me fixing it lol, Im only on remote ssh at minute, so will see what the reboot looks like once home

running ps aux shows too much to been allowed to posted on here, it all doesnt mean much to me, as to what should be running as standard etc..

but thanks for your time anyways

  • So it doesnt look to show any errors on reboot, but when it gets to the screen showing IP and change user account info, the web page takes about another minute before it comes live

    then the below never autostarts

Hard to say why things are slow. I don't know what was uninstalled. Did you try disabling autostart and then re-enabling autostart on the VM?

Just checked through emails as I was on holiday other week and these seem to happen before update when the system reboots

  • Would it be best to start another thread for the above as they look to have existed before the update and dont have anything to do with the gnome :|

Its rare I reboot the NAS, so dont know when they started reporting

I think there are just a lot of things not configured anymore.

Try configuring everything that omv controls (it will take a long time): sudo omv-salt stage run deploy

What is the output of: sudo blkid

strange. Not sure why salt is getting a non-zero exit code. It does seem like things should be working since salt had no errors in the config part. Are you still seeing issues?
