Trying to upgrade from 5.6.26-1 but getting errors

  • Hello people, hope someone can help.

    OMV version: 5.6.26-1

    Debian: 5.10.0-0.deb10.16-amd64

    Sorry if this has been asked and resolved before but I couldnt find a post that matched this scenario exactly.

    I want to upgrade my OMV and I started following the steps on this post: RE: Is there a guide to in place upgrade?

    After running sudo omv-salt stage run deploy I get the result shown in the attached txt file:

    To save you the time, the errors are shown in lines 85 - 225

    The issue seems to be that a repo does not have a release file or rather seems to not exist.

    However if I comment our the line in the .list file or delete the list file, once a make a change in OMV it comes back.

    How do I fix this?

    Also do I need to fix it or just proceed with sudo omv-release-upgrade and ignore it?

    Thank you for your help.

    You need to disable backports. You can do that in omv-extras.

    omv 7.1.0-2 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.2 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.5 | scripts 7.0.7

    omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

  • I tried to but when I tried to save the changes, it gave me another error.

    So I uninstalled omv-extras thinking that I would be able to remove that source list but is still cannot.

    Should I install omv-extras again and send you the error I get when I try to disable backports?

  • I tried installing omv-extras again in order to try and disable backports.

    Initially I got the error about the repo not having a release file so I commented out the line in the list file and I was able to install omv-extras.

    Now if I try to disable backports, I get the following error:

    Try:

    sudo omv-changebackports NO

    omv 7.1.0-2 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.2 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.5 | scripts 7.0.7

  • Thats great, it worked! Thank you so much. No errors when I run sudo omv-salt stage run deploy now.

    Will proceed with sudo omv-release-upgrade and see where it goes.

    Thanks again!
