upgrade OMV 0.5.60 to 1.0.20

  • Hi friends,
I wanted to know the steps and commands to use to upgrade my OMV 0.5.60 with kernel 2.6.32-5-amd64 without problems, so as to avoid restoring the system from scratch.
    Thank You

  • It does not work:

    what to do now?

  • this is the result

I have to do to force a new installation?

This is server http://ftp.it.debian.org/ you local repo server is down, is pretty obvious from the error.

What you need to to is change the repos to one outside of Italy, follow this link

    Problems with sources.list?

PD: As a personal recommendation, I would not follow and upgrade from 0.5, is not easy if your are not familiar with CLI and you don't know how to solve apt-get broken packages problems. Save yourself some trouble, disconnect your data drives and follow a clean install.

  • Ok, I followed the advice, now is my sources.list:

now if you send the command:
    apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade && omv-update

    what to do now?

  • after changing the source list and gave commands to upgrade the system, I can no longer access in http or ftp or SSH.

unfortunately, I'm already doing what I did not want to do: reinstall the system.

I believe in the project and will not let Openmediavault ever, but a rollin release would be appropriate for this type of distribution.

Did you think it was going to be easy? Read among the forums the amount of problems people had upgrading

This is the best way to get into 1.0. I cannot describe the amount of problems you're gonna be having using apt-get to upgrade to debian Wheezy. Just make sure you have your data drives save or disconnect them at the new install

  • I downloaded the iso from:
    http://sourceforge.net/project…1.0.20_amd64.iso/download

I tried the installation by installing the iso on a pendrive; is not successful.

I burned the ISO to a CD and I tried the installation CD,

Even this is not successful ......

He can not get past the disk partitioning.

For now remit OMV 5.x (I already on DVD) later I decide what to do. The server is off for too long.
