No more updates installation under OMV1.17?

  • Hello,

    I run OMV 1.17 (kralizec), under Kernel "Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64".

    Since the last update 1.17 (I assume!), I can't install new updates from "Update Manager".
    When I select updates and clik on "Upgrade" button, the "Installing updates" pop-up stays freezed at the message "Please wait ...", see printscreen in attachment.

    Currently, I see two updates avalaible:
    openmediavault 1.18
    wpasupplicant 1.0-3+deb7u2

    And if I click on "Check" button, there is no error but no additional updates too!

    All .list seems good:

    /etc/apt/sources.list

    /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault.list

    /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault-local.list

    Code
    deb file:/var/cache/openmediavault/archives /

    Could you help me to resolve this problem?

    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Hi tekkb, I ran "apt-get clean".

    root@NAS:~# apt-get clean
    root@NAS:~# cat /var/cache/apt/
    cat: /var/cache/apt/: Is a directory
    root@NAS:~# cat /var/cache/apt/archives
    cat: /var/cache/apt/archives: Is a directory

  • davidh2k, I've checked this post.

    In my side, the "/etc/apt/apt.conf" has these values:
    APT::Default-Release "stable";
    APT::Install-Recommends "false";
    APT::Install-Suggests "false";

    Do I have to replace
    APT::Default-Release "stable";
    by
    APT::Default-Release "wheezy";
    ?

    Or delete "apt.conf" file?

  • Volker should just remove this for file for 1.0 in an upgrade.

    He did that with the 1.18 or 1.19 upgrade. But it's useless for every user. Even uploading the deb manually does not fix it.

  • Aaron and I exchanged some ideas on how to prevent those issues in the future, at least for users that use omvextras. There is nothing done yet, but it's on the list.

  • Hi,
    I have the same problem. I'm on 1.18 and I#m getting no updates.

    I've rebootet already and looked into /etc/apt/ for the file apt.conf, but it is not present.

    Any suggestions what else to try?

    Greetings
    Detlef
