I guess if you are forwarding the webui to the Internet for some reason, then that makes sense. Ive just never particularly got this kind of thinking. I'd be more focused on proper passwords. -

Sound like you use something else as EXT4.
Linux stores the permissions for the folders and files in the filesystem.
If you use NTFS e.g. strange things with permissions can happen.. -

Possibly not you need to run a SMART test on it to check the drive, but the mdadm error -> 'possibly out of date' usually requires the drive to be wiped securely then re added back, provided mdadm has removed the drive. You can check that with mdadm…
