I can't find a proper guide that help me with the uploading files into Webdav.
Webdav using the same shared as SMB/CIF. I have full permissions to the share.
Basically, I have Webdav installed, logged in fine, read, and download files.
However, when I tried upload the files, I don't see any error display.
But I can't find the files.

WebDAV runs under a system username. So IIRC you have to give permissions to the share to www-data. I might be wrong about the username I have to check the code in github.
-
My user has www-data group.
-
That doesn't help. You can try this options.
share needs to be opened 777
add www-data to "users" group
add an acl to the share for www-data -
Is this going to mess up with SMB/CIF shared permission?
or should I create another share for WebDAV? -
less messy I guess would be to add www-data to users.
personally I would create a special group where www-data and some samba users are members. Then change group ownership to that group instead of users.
-
I'm using SMB/CIFs without being a samba user fine on Windows.
What's samba user group is for? -
I was referring to just creating any group with certain members, the ones you want to give samba access. Then grant access to the share with just the group. Also to that group you add www-data so that webdav has write access and upload files.
Omv users and samba users are in sync, this why if you change password for a user, the samba user changes his credentials also.

I found a way to grant full access to Webdav is to add www-data group and www-user to the shared folder using ACL.
But I can't figure how to give certain users read-only. If I grant www-data user full access, and www-data group read-only, then user have read-only.
I'm also tried to create a www-data group, but OMV wouldn't allowed me to do so.
