Hello
I am sorry for this question, I did not know where to put the post since I don’t want to take any space for important questions.
Fast question:
It is possible to run OMV on my rock64 pro, and set it up as a smb server with a cat7 Ethernet cable to my beafy router, and then run Plex on my Apple TV 4K and mount the smb drive from my rock64 to my Apple TV? So that the Apple TV would do all the transcoding.
Long explanation:
I bought a rock64 pro 4gb with the intentions to stream 4K videos on my iPad or Apple TV or pc etc. But the rock64 pro did not have the power to transcode fast enough for a somewhat good experience. (Thank you random reddit post)
Hm then I read some where that I can mount a smb drive on a nvidea shield tv and use the nvidea to transcode if the Ethernet can transfer faster than 100mbit. But to save money, can I do the same process on a Apple TV 4K instead of a nvidea shield tv?
I am sorry about these questions. I am a new as one can get when it comes to Linux.
Thanks from
Chris
