Nightmare of every NAS-User...
Hehe....  Well that was money well spent for a commercial solution.
oh well.
glad im using OMV
Nothing is perfect. Thats a reason why this other solution Dennis mentioned yesterday especially asks for other suppliers to get into the market so that there is not THE ONE solution, which in case a hack gets released, does not target every system but just some systems.
Even OpenMediaVault could be target of such attacks someday.
Greetings
David
Zitat von "davidh2k"Even OpenMediaVault could be target of such attacks someday.
...and will be. Every system exposed to the internet could be hacked. That's the reason, why my OMV is not connected to the router and never will be. Only VMs are connected with the web, but not the host-PC.
There are people at one SynoForum, that payed the price. Last info that I've seen is, that they reached 17 % of encryption.
Good luck, guys!
I´ve still not read any information about how the synolocker gets onto the NAS...
Old software, known Problem. Fix available since December.
Yeah, but what is the "known problem". I´ve not found a specific description of the problem.
Why not?

Just follow links - and you got answers, young Pardawan. This was behind second link from Heise.
Read the first but only cross read the second. Too much work to do... Missing the important things. Thanks! 8-)
