I'm trying to get notifications working through my regular gmail account and I can't seem to get it working. TO verify that it wasn't a firewall issue from my OMV box I ran
nc -zv smtp.gmail.com 465
with results of
DNS fwd/rev mismatch: gmail-smtp-msa.l.google.com != pf-in-f108.1e100.net
DNS fwd/rev mismatch: gmail-smtp-msa.l.google.com != pf-in-f109.1e100.net
gmail-smtp-msa.l.google.com [173.194.202.108] 465 (ssmtp) open
I've also tried port 587
nc -zv smtp.gmail.com 587
DNS fwd/rev mismatch: gmail-smtp-msa.l.google.com != pf-in-f108.1e100.net
DNS fwd/rev mismatch: gmail-smtp-msa.l.google.com != pf-in-f109.1e100.net
gmail-smtp-msa.l.google.com [173.194.202.108] 587 (submission) open
That suggests to me that there is nothing wrong with my network setup.
I set the notification post up with
SMTP server - smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port - 465
Use SSL/TTS is enabled
sender email is myemail@gmail.com
username myemail@gmail.com
password thecorrectone
primary email myotheremail@gmail.com
secondary email blank
saved, applied and then I send a test email from OMV.
nothing arrives and in the system log I see
Sep 24 21:54:02 openmediavault postfix/cleanup[2850]: A66568C0E8A: message-id=<20150925045402.A66568C0E8A@openmediavault.localdomain>

Sep 24 21:54:02 openmediavault postfix/smtp[2851]: instead, send to (port submission/587) with STARTTLS
If I change to SMTP port 587 and send another test email nothing arrives and the system log shows

I logged out and back into gmail via the web browser as I think that's what the error message was about and that didn't change anything. I intentionally set the password wrong and sent another test messages
system log shows
