Increase Software RAID5 write speed

strange, with cat it is not displayed, if I open the file manually, it is in.

What is the output of:

ls -la rc.local

?

You probably need to:

chmod u+x /etc/rc.local

here comes the output

as well chmod u+x /etc/rc.local did not change anything so far

I set up the whole system again. Everything is working now - thank you for your prompt help

Just curious... can I make these tweaks to a pre-existing array with data on it? I will back up the data if I need to but I'd rather not have to.

How would the blockdev tuning affect the array?

I used the blackdev tuning trick. It works makes the software raid faster. I am getting 270 megs per second.

Strip_size_cache default setting 256 causes slower read/write on drives.

so you do not need to change it to 8192 manually.

Im' on the newest OMV, I checked via cat /sys/block/md0/md/stripe_cache_size , output : 513

I have 4Go RAM, I'm on reshape, free 3,7 Go.

What should I do ? How should I tune my RAID6 ?

Yes. OR your RAID is md127 instead of md0 (for example). So it does not have to be md0
