Ever since the latest Plex update (or was it the one before(?)) MKV files are no longer playable.
is there a way I can revert back 2 updates?

Well, I only have 3 file types; MKV, AVI and MP4. The MP4 and AVI work fine. But 90% of my library is MKV.
I looked at the link and would love to downgrade but am very inexperienced with linux.
How would I go about reverting to a stable version?
We don't keep the old versions in repo. You can try and look in your deb cache of you still have the old one.
They are here /var/cache/apt/archives
0.9.17.2.2159-2bd156c-debian is the first PlexPass version that broke for me, and I have gone thru at least 35 versions of @yakumo's builds, both regular and PlexPass.
All I did to fix it was download a copy of plexmediaserver_0.9.16.6.1993-5089475-debian_amd64.deb and from a shell:
How do I do this? Do I download it to the server? If so, what directory do I put it in? Will the command in the quote above work from a SSH CLI?
Can you give results of this:
ls -la /opt
Give results of:
dpkg -l | grep plex
And
df -h
/media/d0ef56b5-763d-4c52-b235-9b96e61c8e8c/Media/Movies$ dpkg -l | grep plex

You need to disable the plugin and then re-enable it. Also, what uuid did you use in the plugin settings? You assigned a volume but the path below it shows the uuid where the plexmediaserver working directory was moved to.
After disabling and re-enabling try to play a mkv.
Are you talking about the Database Folder in the settings?
It's /media/d0ef56b5-763d-4c52-b235-9b96e61c8e8c/plexmediaserver
That fixed it! MKV works!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He did not have a /opt/plexcodecs folder. Nothing should be playing without that.
I had to program it that way. It was easiest way to fix the codecs issue in the latest version.
Also, you will run into issues if your working directory disk gets to full and plex unable to transcode!

???
Can I change my working directory to the same drive that OMV is loaded on? There is plenty of unused space on there.
No, you can't move the plexmediaserver folder to the data drive with the plugin. Everything is designed to store data on the data disks. Your data disks are getting really full. You should add another data disk.
If you have not done this:
Modify the 80% threshold filesystem notification.
Your logs might be filling rapidly with warnings that your disks are getting full.
Thank you. Looks like daddy's getting a new HDD
Native video support by Plex is typically (but not always) limited to the MP4 container, H.264 video encoding, and AAC audio. Content that is not natively supported will automatically be Direct Streamed or transcoded as needed by the Plex Media Server.
