reset the configuration

  • Make a cloned image of the sd card as it is after first boot. And possibly after a update/upgrade.

When you want to restore settings, restore the card from the cloned image.

Google something like "how do i clone a sd card" for details on how to clone a sd card.

This is how I do it:

RE: New to OMV and Linux

Be smart - be lazy. Clone your rootfs. This help is Grateful™.
    OMV 4: 9 x Odroid HC2 + 1 x Odroid HC1 + 1 x Raspberry Pi 4

  • how to reset the configuration to firststart? (Raspi 4, omv5)

Unfortunately there isn't a clean way to do it. It was tried in the past and it just messed things up more than it fixed.

Only real way is to either reinstall, or as said above, when you have everything working perfectly, create an image of your disk.
