CPU temp not showing, but sensors show it

  • Been using OMV 6 for some time, but on the #2 machine in signature below I rebuilt and reconfigured some stuff and rebuilt it.

When I installed I didn't notice that the new ISO was version 7.

Once booted up I was surprised when I saw the new background/wallpaper.

But all worked well, investigated a little. The only thing I can't seem to figure out is the CPU temp is not showing.

It's showing up in sensors panel, I have lm-sensors loaded, did the sensors-detect, installed omv-extras.

What log or command do I need to post to see if someone can answer?

You can follow the steps in this guide.

If after that it does not display correctly, publish the results of the sensors command and someone will tell you how to modify the script.

  • Could it also be because there are 2 CPU's?

Sensors is showing coretemp-isa-0001 & coretemp-isa-0000 both with 4 cores temps showing.

  • I must have done something wrong, when I tried your suggestion it gave me

    Code
    /usr/sbin/cpu-temp

does not exist. It seemed all good till that.

Also is there a way to log into the cli, as I usually don't have a monitor and keyboard attached.

Have you installed the openmediavault-cputemp plugin?

Log in via ssh, for example with putty.

  • Yes cpu-temp is installed.

CPU temp is showing up on dashboard just blank.

  • Bingo it worked with the logging in ssh..

Think I was not saving correctly, all good now.
