Adding that ID for the release key is the best way. As for the pinning, you only need it if your need higher pinning and with emby, you don't. So with those two fields removed, it is setup correctly.

Hallo,

Hello,
sorry that I've wrote the above posting in german. Didn't know where I was because I've switched in different forums because of this issue.
Now I'v sorted out why emby didn't recognize the albums with the german singers. The songs I have in these albums are using the .mp3 extensions. The recognized (english singer) albums have .m4a extensions. So emby only could sort out the tags of the .m4a and not of the mp3's. I converted the mp3s into m4a's and voila emby could find the album info on musicbrainz and stored them on the server.
I wrote somewhere in the emby forum that emby uses ffprobe to read out the ID3-tags of the mp3. Because of the error with ffprobe, you can see it in the above posted log.
in line 27 you can see something with MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe. What has a .exe to do under Linux? Here is the mentioned part of the log*** Error Report ***
Version: 3.0.8500.0
Command line: /opt/emby/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata /media/aac75702-c08f-4587-a08b-9fc72e60c614/emby -restartpath /usr/sbin/emby.sh
Operating system: Unix 3.16.0.0
Processor count: 4
64-Bit OS: True
64-Bit Process: True
Program data path: /media/aac75702-c08f-4587-a08b-9fc72e60c614/emby
Mono: 4.6.1 (Stable 4.6.1.5/ef43c15 Wed Oct 12 09:10:37 UTC 2016)
Application Path: /opt/emby/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe
So how can I resolve this issue with the error? Streaming is all ok. I can watch movies, series and listen to the music via the web interface of Emby Server. Only the problem is that emby can't read the tags of the mp3s (and I've a lot of these albums and don't want to convert them all) -
It is in the mono repo. Are you using an RPi?
-
I think this is self-explaning, if you know where to look. Go to the official emby web site: https://emby.media/download.html
- choose "Linux" under "Emby Server"
- choose "Debian"
- choose "Stable Release Channel" (or "Beta Channel" or "Dev Channel", if you want to...)
- if you choose "Stable", you arrive at this site: https://software.opensuse.org/…Aemby&package=emby-server
- choose your "OS" -> "Debian"
- execute the commands for debian 7 (omv2) or debian 8 (omv3) per command line (ssh, terminal) -> you can "add" the emby server repository in the omv3 webui under "OMV-Extras - Repos" if you want (don't know if this is possible with omv2)
- not sure, if the service gets started automatically, you maybe have to execute the following command "service emby-server start"
- install ffmpeg and its dependencies per command line "apt-get install ffmpeg"
- reach the emby server webui in the browser of your choice: http://IP.OF.YOUR.SERVER:8096 -> start the initial emby setup assistant
- find the path to your ffmpeg per command line "whereis ffmpeg" -> for me it is "/usr/bin/ffmpeg" -> emby setup assistant asks for the path
That's it! For me it works fine with debian jessie (omv3) at the moment.
Here is the debian thread in the emby community: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/19415-debian/
Greetings Hoppel
Hi,
I just installed a fresh OMV3.1. Do I need to remove the Emby repo that I created manually in the OMV-extras setting after Emby installation?
2. What's the different between the installed ffmpeg vs the custom ffmpeg?
Thanks.
-
1. No, you don't need to remove or disable your emby repo if you want any updates for emby or mono.
2. I don't know.
Greetings Hoppel

OMV3:
Once I add the Emby repo manually, I encountered this duplicate entry when I ran the ap-get update:
CodeFetched 92.5 kB in 10s (8,860 B/s) Creating index of upgradeable packages ... Creating index of openmediavault plugins ... Reading package lists... -
What is the output of: grep -r emby /etc/apt/*
-
Code
grep -r emby /etc/apt/* /etc/apt/sources.list.d/emby-server.list:deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/emby/Debian_8.0/ / /etc/apt/sources.list.d/omv-extras-org.list:# emby server /etc/apt/sources.list.d/omv-extras-org.list:deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/emby/Debian_8.0/ / Binary file /etc/apt/trusted.gpg matches
-
Did the package add the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/emby-server.list file or did you? If the package added it, remove the repo from the omv-extras repo tab. If you added it, remove the file and keep the one in omv-extras.
-
Ok, I'd remove the emby repo from the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/emby-server.list, it's working fine now.
Thanks. -
Guys!
How can I install emby plugin when running 3.0.56?

How can I install emby plugin when running 3.0.56?
You can't. It isn't ready.
-
Thx for the info.
As the installation is just from scratch I will install OMV later today.
I hope an upgrade from 2 to 3 will be ready when it's done.

Since I'm using the emby repo from the custom omv-extras, can I remove the list ?
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/emby-server.list -
Yep.
-
so there is no way to get emby addon running on latest omv3 build?
-
-
Sorry I'm totally lost...
I am still on OMV 2.0 stoneburner and want to install Emby via omv-extras but won't get it...
