So... my Glaskugel wants to know if you just don't see it anymore or if you really can't acces it. Then it may be able to predict what happened.

David -
So you can't access samba shares on more then one windows machines? Did you try to reboot your router? unplug for 5 seconds and plug back in.
BigDaddy, you are on a rampage..
-
Can't access via windows explorer on any windows computers. IP scanner is the only way to find it. I have browser access through ip. But shares or omv does not show under windows explorer. Have a switch and then another switch, rebooted both.
-
But shares or omv does not show under windows explorer.
Again, are they (only) not showing up or are you unable to open your shares when you type into your windows explorer \\ipofyournas ?
Greetings
David -
only not showing up. I can access via web browser
-
-
no, access to omv via web browser
-
Yes. And I asked if you are able to manually access your samba shares via your Windows Explorer.

smbd_audit log is blank

Greetings
David -
Thanks, I am able to see the shares now via the method you provided, just not the root of the OMV. One server I am unable to access due to password problems. I can access via web browser and use the same password , but does not connect.
-
I think we have a communication problem here...
would you please describe more exactly what you want to achieve? -
What do you mean "the root" of the OMV?
-
I didn't realize I had to map a network share on windows for each smb share on the omv, i thought i could just have the root omv like another computer is shown then you click on the computer and see the various shares available.
-
Well, you can if your shares are mapped up properly
For instance, if I go to \\serverIP
I see all my shares.... What is it you are seeing when you go to \\serverip
-
When I try to map a network drive, I can only map the share, not the server. (root)
-
Which is 100% normal behaviour.
Greetings
David -
THANKS

Nevermind... I was confused as to what you were stating.
I've now used my 1 Windows 7 boot for the year... so... hopefully I don't need it again in the next few months..
