Can't get deluge to install...

  • libboost-python1.49.0 and libboost-system1.49.0 are installed. Despite I cannot install the plugin. After I select it and click install...

the installation window (Installing plugins ...) freezes and shows only:
    Reading package lists...
    Building dependency tree...
    Reading state information...

We know already what happens when trying to install it via terminal.

  • It looks like the plugin is at fault, after the comments about libboost-python and the other lib I added them as dependencies but libboost-python1.49.0 is not the same as libboost-python so the plugin refuses to install even though libboost-python1.49.0 is installed.

    Code
libboost-python1.49.0 is already the newest version.
    libboost-python1.49.0 set to manually installed.
libboost-system1.49.0 is already the newest version.
    libboost-system1.49.0 set to manually installed.

    Code
openmediavault-deluge : Depends: libboost-system but it is not installable
Depends: libboost-python but it is not installable

I will update the plugin to install the 1.49.0 versions.

I was able to install the plugin successfully :). It's running 1.3.10 which is great. Thank you.

How can I make configuration changes, is it possible to use Deluge plugins (add a blocklist, set time - it's set to Date: 01/01/1970 01:00:00, etc.)?
I'll need to master privilages and ACLs in order to make the shares useful which makes it quite a challange ;)

Was this done using the plugin alone or did you have to do any extra steps using the shell?

  • I've recently tried reinstalling OMV on my test system, and noticed deluge in the repo. But when I try to install it, it just hangs at:

    Reading package lists...
    Building dependency tree...

When I manually installed it before I had to install liboost python etc. I assumed that installing from repo would install those dependancies for me, but I guess not? Is this normal?

  • For me I've always use the shell for this plugin

yeah, that was how I installed it last time as well. I just figured I should report the bug, if its to make its way into a repo then it should be a handy one click install.

and now it gets stuck on:

    Reading package lists...

  • That is what I get, as you cn see it does install everthing needed to run deluge (apart from deluge it self)
What kinda of system are you running on?

did you have any other plugins installed, that may have installed their own dependancies, before installing deluge from the test repo? When I tried it, deluge was the first thing that I tried to install on a fresh OMV

  • I had only just installed omv-extras on a VM that I had just installed.
