But, doesn't work....

Don't worry about that. It's just because you have a self-signed certificate. The server is yours and the certificate is yours, so you can trust your own certificate. -

I understand what you're saying, of course. But I wasn't just relying on the website - I performed an apt update on my system just now and it read the adelolmo repository in without any issue. -

For the repo to report that the Release file is not available, there is something wrong with it. Which is why I said it should be reported to the repo maintainer. Just because the main page is available does not mean the repo is configured correctly. -

If you replace every occurrence of "\x2d" above with a dash "-", then
"dev\x2ddisk\x2dby\x2duuid\x2d2d124635\x2d347f\x2dbae1\x2d54f6\x2d15d99add6de2"
becomes
"dev-disk-by-uuid-2d124635-347f-bae1-54f6-15d99add6de2"
which is probably what it should be in… -

adelolmo.github.io is wherehd-idle comes from (as well as other packages).
You should have an /etc/apt/sources.list.d/adelolmo.github.io.list file with the following contents:

it shouldn't do that on every boot. That is an even better reason to remove the package if the RPi foundation does have it configured to do that.
