    If you use the linuxserver/syncthing image as described in the guide (here), the files should be owned by appuser:users. If you get more problems not with file owner and group but with permissions for the group, then try adding UMASK to the environment…

    In thar case its the easier of the two options. Just keep a copy of the bash scripts and set any scheduling up on them up again.

    Read what I said again. If any system on your network gets a virus or malware, it could compromise your OMV box. I have seen it happen. Your choice though.

    Depending on what you are running on that old system, a fresh install of v8 would not be difficult, particularly if you are not using any docker containers. Simple take some screen shots of your configurations and/or take a copy of the omv config xml…

    I don't use Docker on the OMV. But I have customized the system with several Bash scripts. If I upgrade the system, I guess it costs me a weekend.
    I will think about it!
