i just installed OMV on my Raspberry Pi 3, and when I mount my 2 NTFS hard drives, everything goes well until I try to access them through SMB. The shares show up, but the drives do not. Ive already tried the internal reset permissions tool but it didn't help. I did create a text file using the terminal, and THAT was visible over SMB, but nothing else. Could anyone please help me out? Thanks ☺

OMV is Linux. You should not be using NTFS with Linux.

Thanks but that wasn't what I was asking. My home drive is of course ext4. Im aware of the FS difference. I can browse files in the ssh terminal, but nothing is visible over SMB. I have to use these drives with multiple windows systems, so converting to ext4 is not an option. I have used these drives in other Linux setups. NTFS is supported through NTFS-3g. Not perfectly, but its worked just fine. I really like the setup of OMV and would love to use it if i can figure out this problem. Any ideas on troubleshooting?

There are some trouble shooting guides in the SMB/CIFS section of the forum.
This one for example:Windows shares / samba Trouble shooting

NTFS is no POSIX filesystem, so it does not work with OMV which is using ACLs to handle privileges.

I'm confused. I've read people claim that NTFS is POSIX, like here: https://linux.die.net/man/8/ntfs-3g
